The theme of UNDP's 2009 Global Human Development Report is "Overcoming Barriers: Human Mobility and Development".
The Report investigates global migration in the context of demographic changes and trends in both growth and inequality and how a human development approach can be a means to redress some of the underlying issues that erode the potential benefits of mobility and/or force migration. The report also highlights the region’s experiences, challenges, and the steps undertaken to address the evolving challenges of regional migration.
